Do I Need To Fill The Blood Sample Tube?

The majority of our tests only require one sample tube, and it is important that this is filled to the upper fill-line for all of the tests you require to be completed.

To help ensure you can collect enough blood, it helps if:

  • Your body is warm - take a brisk walk or a bath/shower before collecting your sample.
  • You are fully hydrated - drink plenty of water beforehand.
  • You stand up - this helps the blood flow to your fingers.
  • You take your time - filling a sample tube can take a minute or two so please be patient!

Three lancets are provided if you cannot get enough blood from your first attempt, but most people should find this straightforward.

If you do struggle to fill a tube and would like to try again, please contact us and a replacement kit will be dispatched at no charge.
