Is This A Coronavirus Antibody Rapid-Test?
This test is analysed very quickly, but it is NOT a rapid-test! We'll explain:
Rapid-tests are the term typically used for single-use, disposable cartridge style tests for use often in your own home. The mostly widely known example being pregnancy tests.
Test quality is assessed by the Sensitivity, Specificity and resulting risk of false negative or false postive results. Rapid-test quality is rarely on-par with tests conducted in a quality controlled, audited and accredited laboratory environment, staffed by healthcare professionals and using professional diagnostics instrumentation.
Critically, the use of Coronavirus Antibody Rapid-Tests is currently NOT advised by Public Health England, as detailed here.
Our test, however, is a self-collected sample analysed in a professional clinical laboratory as described above.
Results will usually be available within 48 hours. We can't guarantee this but we work hard to deliver results quickly and efficiently. Occasionally results may take a little longer due to the complex nature of biological sample analysis.
