Breast Cancer Risk Test & Prevention Plan

Your Genes Matter.

Why take action?

AnteBC genetic testing provides precise assessment of your breast cancer risk using advanced polygenic risk score (PRS) technology - enabling tailored prevention and screening strategies.

Around 1 in 7 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime

(Breast Cancer Now, 2023)

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the UK, with around 55,000 new cases each year

(Cancer Research UK, 2023)

Approximately 20% of breast cancer risk can be explained by genetic factors, including polygenic risk scores.

(Antegenes, 2023)

BRCA1 & BRCA2 gene mutations significantly increase risk but are relatively rare - most genetic risk comes from numerous smaller gene variants (polygenic risk).

(Antegenes, 2023)

In the UK, approximately 20% of breast cancer cases occur in women under the national screening age of 50 (Cancer Research UK, 2023)

(Cancer Research UK, 2023)

What Is AnteBC and Polygenic Risk Score?

AnteBC is a genetic test specifically designed for women to assess the risk of developing breast cancer. It uses advanced polygenic risk score (PRS) technology, analysing multiple genetic variants to provide a precise and comprehensive risk evaluation. Unlike single-gene mutations (BRCA1/BRCA2), PRS considers a broader genetic profile, making it a powerful clinical tool for precise and efficient breast cancer prevention and screening.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does the AnteBC test analyse rare mutations in genes that increase breast cancer risk?

No, the test evaluates your polygenic risk score but does not assess rare pathogenic mutations in genes such as BRCA1, BRCA2, and others that significantly increase cancer risk.

  • Is this test used to diagnose breast cancer?

No, this test is designed to assess your genetic predisposition and provide personalised prevention strategies, not diagnose cancer.

  • Does an elevated risk mean I will develop breast cancer?

No, an elevated risk does not guarantee you will develop breast cancer. Similarly, a moderate or lower risk does not mean your risk is zero.

  • Does this test assess the risk for my family members?

No, the test evaluates your personal risk. Polygenic risk scores are not directly inherited in a way that can predict risks for relatives.

  • What else should I consider alongside my test results?

Your test results should be interpreted alongside other clinical data. Lifestyle, diet, and other health factors also play a role in breast cancer risk.

What people say about us

Since I am younger than the age of breast cancer screening, it was important for me to take matters into my own hands, to find out what I can do to maintain my health. I found out I have a high risk and was advised to go for screening when I turn 40 and to rescreen every two years. This is why I strongly recommend this kind of genetic testing - it gives me peace of mind.

I became a breast cancer survivor under the national screening age of 50, but was very lucky to be able to catch it early thanks to the polygenic risk test, which came back as high-risk and instructed me to start having mammograms several years ago. Even my genetic tests during treatment didn't find any common single gene mutations associated with cancer, so if it wasn't for the PRS I might never have discovered I was high-risk. Thankfully my cancer was small, and easily treatable but without this test I might not have ever gone for early screening.

I never would have thought that I might have an increased risk of breast cancer – especially since there has never been any cancer in my family. Personalised breast cancer prevention gave me a clear plan to follow, including starting mammography screenings from the age of 36. I'm also committed to following the lifestyle recommendations that came with the plan to reduce my risk through healthy habits. Now I know how to take care of myself and when to start with screenings. This knowledge is truly invaluable.
