Bone Health Advanced (DPD) Home Test Kit
Assess the rate of bone breakdown and essential minerals, proteins and vitamins
Bones can feel like a “set and forget” part of health until a small fall causes more damage than you expected, or you notice persistent joint discomfort or height loss. Risk often builds quietly with age, menopause, family history, smoking, alcohol use, or conditions that affect nutrient absorption.
The Bone Health Advanced (DPD) test looks at bone resorption, how quickly your body is breaking bone down, using deoxypyridinoline (DPD). It also checks key markers that support bone maintenance, including calcium, vitamin D, albumin and alkaline phosphatase.
If you want a clearer picture of bone turnover and the factors that influence bone strength over time, this test offers objective data you can act on. Order your kit to move from guesswork to clarity.

What the Bone Health Advanced (DPD) test is for
This test panel extends our standard bone health panel by measuring the rate of bone breakdown (bone resorption).
A higher level of bone resorption markers means higher bone turnover and higher bone loss. This leads to an increased risk of osteoporotic fractures.
We also measure the essential minerals, protein and vitamins involved in the production & maintenance of healthy bones and teeth.
Bone is a living tissue that is constantly being broken down and rebuilt. This balance can be disrupted through dietary or hormonal changes leading to reduction in the minerals which contribute to bone density and strength.
This can lead to osteoporosis and a marked increase in risk of fracture, with the risk increasing with age, especially for women.
This panel can also indicate if other processes are on-going. For example, high DPD levels suggest increased bone resorption which can be seen in osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and other factors that affect bone such as Paget's disease, bone cancers, fracture and bone infections.

Albumin (ALB) is a protein produced by the liver and is the most abundant protein in the blood.
It transports components throughout the body, nourishes tissues & prevents blood vessel leakage.
Albumin is highly sensitive to liver damage so lower levels can indicate when the liver is damaged.
Many other factors also affect albumin levels, such as malnutrition, acute illnesses and inflammation.
